Maintenance

Daily Care

After use

To maintain its heat-retaining properties, store it after wearing by hanging it on a hanger, taking care not to crush the loft (fluffiness) of the down. Maintaining the loft allows the feathers to trap warm air, increasing their heat-retaining properties. We recommend storing it in a well-ventilated area. Also, to prevent damage to the fabric, store it out of direct sunlight.

Down Leakage

On rare occasions, feathers may come out from the weave or seams of the fabric. If they are coming out from the seams, remove them by sticking duct tape on them and then peeling it off. If they are coming out from the fabric, pinch the feathers from the inside and return them to the inside of the garment. Finally, gently rub the area where the feathers were coming out to make the marks less noticeable.

With Leather Yoke

As stated on the quality label, we recommend that you have your item cleaned by a professional cleaner that handles leather products. Some general dry cleaners will also refer you to a professional cleaner, so please check with your local store. We recommend Koba Leather Co., Ltd. as an example of a professional cleaner.

Nylon

Dissolve soap or mild detergent in water, then use a soft sponge or brush to scrub away any dirt. Afterwards, carefully rinse only the areas that were affected with detergent.

Leather

Remove dust and dirt from the leather yoke by brushing or wiping with a dry cloth. If the dirt is severe, apply a small amount of leather cleaner to a soft cloth and wipe the dirt away. For daily maintenance, apply a small amount of leather care oil or cream to a soft cloth and spread it thinly and evenly over the entire surface. Store on a hanger until the oil has penetrated.
* Always test leather cleaners, leather care oils, and creams in an inconspicuous area before using them.

Mouton

Gently tap the surface to remove dust and dirt. If the surface is particularly dirty, dissolve soap or a mild detergent in water and wipe gently with a soft sponge or cloth.

Without Leather Yoke

The neck and cuffs are areas that come into direct contact with the skin and are therefore prone to staining with sweat and sebum. Dissolve soap or mild detergent in water, soak a soft sponge or brush in the solution, and use a scrubbing motion to wipe away any dirt. If you are concerned about overall staining or odor, wash the garment according to the care instructions. We also recommend washing the garment before storing it for an extended period of time. Below is an example of how to wash the garment at home.

1.

Fill a tub or bucket with lukewarm water and thoroughly dissolve the down detergent.

2.

Immerse the entire product in lukewarm water and gently press it with your hands to wash it. For heavily soiled areas, gently rub it with a sponge, being careful not to damage the fabric.

3.

Once you've finished washing, rinse thoroughly to remove any remaining detergent, as this will damage the loft.

4.

After rinsing, gently press the product to remove any water from the down. After removing as much moisture as possible, wrap it in a bath towel or similar to absorb any additional moisture.

5.

Once most of the moisture has been removed, place the item in a laundry net and dry it in a dryer set to low temperature for about 20 minutes.

6.

If the product does not dry completely in the dryer or if you cannot use a dryer, dry it flat in a well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight.

7.

Once your garment is completely dry, hold both sides of the fabric and tug gently several times to allow the down to absorb air and restore loft.
